At Indiana Neurology and Pain Management Centre, we ensure a detailed diagnosis of the underlying spinal, neurological, and musculoskeletal injuries. Once the cause of pain is known, we proceed with the right neurology procedures. Our specialty lies in three types of neurological treatments; Nerve Conduction Study, Vagus Nerve Stimulation, and Electroencephalogram. Interventional pain management therapies conducted by the neurology specialist aim to provide long-term pain relief to our patients.

Neurology Q & A

During nerve conduction study, damaged nerves in the body are detected and then the required neurology procedures are prescribed. Our team of expert doctors then performs a nerve conduction study in which two electrodes are placed on the skin over the presumed nerve. One electrode stimulates and the other one is placed to record the results. Based on this diagnosis, further treatment is planned.

Seizures caused due to epilepsy are treated through vagus nerve stimulation if the medication does not improve the condition. Vagus nerve stimulation includes placing a nerve stimulator through a small incision on the upper left side of the chest. VNS reduces the effect of seizures.

Abnormalities in the electrical functions of the brain are diagnosed through EEG (Electroencephalogram). 16-25 electrodes are pasted on the scalp or the patient has to wear a cap containing electrodes. Then the doctor records the activity of the electrodes to diagnose any abnormalities.

Depending on the diagnosis, the condition of the neurological problem, and the treatment done, results may vary for different patients. After a detailed diagnosis, your doctor can better advice you on what improvements you can expect. Book your appointment today at INPC.
